HSL 102

Postby RNCFV Newscaster » 28 Nov 2008 9:58 am

It appears that this craft is causing quite some controversy in certain quarters - the claim to have been at Dunkirk has been dropped by the owner but the craft is still a very important, and immaculately refurbished, relic from our recent History.

This story has moved on from the so called 'controversy'.
This craft, along with MTB 81, is now in the care of the Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust (the Museum). This clip shows HSL 102's recent trip from Ireland to Southampton.
For me, the start up sound is worth the look alone - best viewed in full screen.

This 1938 footage from British Pathe shows a boat of this number.

These two boat numbers will be confused for sometime I fear. That one is of the prototype Vosper MTB.

Here is some footage of a Rescue. Although obviously 'staged' - cleverly edited non the less.
