The siting of this seat reveals the position of the then Navy House and it is hoped to identify this seat with a plaque “The Weary Mariner”.

To the 11 shipmates killed in action and buried ashore and the 50 shipmates lost at sea around the Islands. Their Graves are the seas around the Islands of Dalmatia.

Our final legacy to those who served and died in the Island campaign of 1943-45 and for the support of the people of Vis and Komiza in their welcome to us Veterans over these past 26 years, this stone seat at the end of the jetty was dedicated in their honour.
